From 25.01 to 09.02.2014 101projekt Gallery exhibited the work of young artist Grzegorz Gwiazda.
Grzegorz Gwiazda was born in 1984 in Lidzbark Warmiński. He studied at the Academy of Art in Poznań and in Warsaw, and on a scholarship at the Accademia di Belle Arte di Brera in Milan, Italy. In 2009 he graduated with honors from the Academy of Art in Warsaw, having studied in the faculty of sculpture under Professor Adam Myjak.
In recent years Grzegorz Gwiazda has participated in a series of events and activities, with individual exhibitions in various Polish cities: Warmia Bishops Castle (Lidzbark Warmiński 2008) „Promocyjna” Gallery, Warsaw (2011) „Fibak” Gallery (2013) „Znaleziona” Gallery, Poznań and „Wspólna” Gallery, Bydgoszcz.
His work has also been exhibited in collective exhibitions both in Poland and abroad: „Coming Out: The Best Graduates of ASP”, Warsaw (2009), „Exhibition of Professors and Graduates in the Faculty of Sculpture ASP”, Warsaw (2012), Madrid (2010, 2011) and Barcelona (2011). His sculptures can be found in the permanent collection of Museum Europeu d'Art Modern in Barcelona.
The exhibition was a unique opportunity to take a different perspective on modern sculpture, as a contemporary storage medium in the classical form.
Among the artist’s works exhibited at the 101projekt Gallery were Anointed (Pomazaniec), Bike (Rowerek), Alchemist (Alchemik), Bench (Ławeczka). In his sculptures the artist used various materials such as paper, resin, bronze, ceramics and wood.
