Małgosia Malinowska

A graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, she graduated with honors in the studio of Professor Krzysztof Wachowiak. Winner of the Józef Szajna prize. After studying, she continued her education at Central Saint Martins College in London, then for three years she studied in New York during an artistic scholarship in the Studio Art Intensive program at The National Academy School. She works mainly in the medium of painting, but she also includes video installations and sculptures in her large thematic exhibitions. Coming from a Polish-Jewish family, she has worked for many years on the subject of memory and cultural affiliation. In her series "Lost Generation" she created a series of children's portraits inspired by historical photographs from the 1930s found in the Yad Vashem Museum archives. The project was shown at the 23rd International Conference on Children of the Holocaust, at the Jewish Festival in Krakow and at the Mazovian Institute of Culture. She has shown her work in individual and group exhibitions, including at the Warsaw Athenaeum, The National Academy Museum in New York and at the Vertical Gallery in Gdansk.
